We value incorporating movements into our member’s workouts that not only strengthen, but also restore function. You’ll find a few of these “corrective exercises” squeezed between sets of core work, resistance training, and power circuits.
Recently, our members have been raving about this particular exercise: The Side Lying Shoulder Sweep. Oooooh boy, is it good not only for those with limited shoulder mobility due to chest or other tightness, but for anyone who sits at a desk, drives a lot, etc. When we’re in these seated positions (especially with arms forward, as I am typing this newsletter), major tightness ensues that works its way to other parts of the body. Gentle exercises to undo this are critical.
Try this little move (instructions in the video) and hear your shoulders shout “Thank You!!” (we really think they will). 🙂
